Willamette Valley Medical Center and McMinnville Internal Medicine are pleased to announce the addition of Nathan Ruden, M.D., to the medical staff.  Dr. Ruden is joining the McMinnville Internal Medicine clinic, with a primary focus on post-acute and long-term care.

After attending medical school at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Dr. Ruden completed his residency at St. Marks Family Medicine in Salt Lake City, Utah.  He remained in Utah, where he worked in various roles including as a solo provider, a corporate CMO, skilled nursing facility, home health and hospice medical director, as well as a medical director of a group of post-acute providers.

Dr. Ruden was drawn to the intellectual challenge of family medicine, as well as the positive impact on individual health. When asked why he chose to specialize in Family Medicine, he said, “I stumbled upon nursing home medicine during residency, and quickly found that I enjoyed working in this unique setting as part of a medical team caring for elderly patients.” He adds that “making positive impacts on the quality of patients’ lives” is his favorite aspect of his work. Joining the team-centered philosophy at McMinnville Internal Medicine and collegial medical staff of Willamette Valley Medical Center is the perfect fit for him.

Dr. Ruden will treat the full spectrum of internal medicine conditions including:

· Congestive Heart Failure · Geriatric Diseases
· Dementia · Pneumonia and other infections
· Sepsis · Other common nursing home problems

Dr. Ruden is looking forward to knowing and connecting with patients and families. When he isn’t working, Dr. Ruden will most likely be found at home, in the kitchen or gardening in his yard.
