One of my family’s traditions is to go skiing each winter. I learned how to ski when I was very young, and we would go as much as possible. Unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity to go for the past several years. Part of that is because of the lack of snow, but also my lack of confidence in my health. This past Saturday, I was fortunate enough to be able to go with friends and family to Mt. Hood Meadows in order to enjoy a day of skiing.
As we drove up the mountain and the snow began to fall, I began to get nervous. Not only has it been years since I stuffed myself into ski gear, but I wasn’t sure if my body was up to the physical challenge. Fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised that I had lost enough weight to enjoy an entire day of sliding down the slopes! It was so much fun to hang out with my friends and teach Jason how to ski. The worst part was dealing with the tight ski boots over my thick calves, but other then that I really enjoyed myself.
Although there are so many challenges that come with WLS, it’s times like these that make it worth it. I am so glad to be on this weight loss journey and am so excited to continually fee healthier. Thanks everyone for your support!
