Well it is now officially turkey season and then Christmas! I am excited for Thanksgiving and the holidays, but today I want to talk about Halloween. This year, I had the opportunity to participate in a murder mystery dinner fundraiser for Aumsville Community Theatre. This year we did four performances of “The Thin Man and Mafia Murders”. My character was a psychotic woman named Angela. It was a lot of fun!
Anyways, I decided to wear the same dress I wore last year to the murder mystery because it took place in the same time period (1920s). I remember wearing the dress last year and thinking I looked good, but I look back now and there is a huge difference between this year and last. It’s a form-fitting black dress with a peek-a-boo back, so it shows every curve and bump of the body. This year it fit nearly perfectly and was almost too big! I was so encouraged when people complimented me at the dinner and on Facebook about my appearance.
As I have lost weight, people look at me differently. I think it’s not just because I look better, but I am happier and more confident. Before the surgery I would hide in my bubble and binge eat. Now I don’t have to that. I don’t have to be ashamed of how much or what I eat. All of this said, it’s not been an easy road, but I know I’ll succeed. The next test will be the holiday season. I look forward to passing it with flying colors and wish the best of luck to everyone else going through the same thing!
