Dr. Brett Johnson, Emergency Department

August 11, 2015- McMinnville, OR- Willamette Valley Medical Center is pleased to announce the new addition to their medical staff, Dr. Brett Johnson, Emergency Department. “Emergency medicine is a group effort and I love being part of a team of nurses and technicians all pulling in the same direction,” Dr. Johnson said. This is what Dr. Johnson says his favorite part of working in the medical field and what he is looking forward to here at Willamette Valley Medical Center.

Dr. Johnson is one of 4 new providers to join to the Emergency Department in the past 3 months. The rapid growth of the department has lead to huge strides in care and the ability the ED has to provide the best possible care. With the new implementation of the “Fast Track” which treats lower acuity patients faster, it has given the department the ability to severely reduce wait times and transform patient satisfaction.

Dr. Johnson attended Pacific Lutheran University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Art in Chinese Studies. He then went on to receive his Medical degree in 2001 at Oregon Health and Science University. Then in 2004, Dr. Johnson completed his residency at Orlando Regional Medical Center for Emergency Medicine. Dr. Johnson says that if he hadn’t become a doctor he would have “become a wildlife biologist.” He said that in his free time he enjoys hiking in the Cascades, bird watching and playing tennis. He also enjoys spending his time with his wife Helen and their two children Anders, 8 and Ecose, 5.

We are very excited to have Dr. Johnson on our team at Willamette Valley Medical Center and would like to welcome him and his family to our great community.
