Where has this month gone?!

Home/"My Weight-Loss Journey" by Stephanie/Where has this month gone?!

1610011_1272860042730771_7470810243123453298_nCan you believe that its over half-way through March? Where has this month gone! I am so excited that its almost summer.

My hope is that this summer is awesome. I can’t wait to go boating, swimming and camping. The best part of it all, is I don’t have to be ashamed of my body anymore. This year I am determined to wear a two piece swimsuit and not care what other people think. My body is not even close to perfect and I have more weight to lose, but I feel more confident. WLS has given me a new chance at life and I am so happy I had the opportunity to have it done.

As you all know, WLS is difficult. Quitting old habits is extremely hard, but starting over has many perks too. As I said before, I am very excited to try new things and push myself outside my comfort zone this Summer. One of my goals is to run a 5k race, wear a bikini and travel to a different country.

I’m on my way to reaching those goals by applying to an exchange to Serbia, improving my exercising routine and becoming more aware of my old habits. I still have more weight to lose, but at this point, I am just concentrating on creating new habits. I started jogging, which I hated before, and once I have access to the school gym after Spring break, I will start weight training again. When I was close to 300 lbs, I never would have done any of these activities. Watching other people reach their goal weight motivates me to keep going with exercising and eating right. I can’t stress enough how important it is to have a strong support system in place when going through WLS. Without them, I would have given up a long time ago. But because my family and friends are their for me, I am determined to succeed in reaching my goal weight.

By the way, I am hoping that everyone enjoyed my video blog from last week. I felt vulnerable and nervous for sharing it, but I think it was something everyone going through this process can relate to. I have other video blogs and am hoping that you will all enjoy them. I really appreciate everyone’s support and hope that I can help others out through their WLS journey.
