Next Steps
If you are looking for excellent cancer care with a focus on comfort, privacy, and convenience, you will discover just the right touch at the H.R. Hoover, MD, Cancer Center. Our cancer center is located at Willamette Valley Medical Center and is nationally accredited with the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons.
The H.R. Hoover, M.D. Cancer Center offers both radiation treatment and chemotherapy services. Hematology services are also provided for patients with certain blood disorders. All of our departments work closely together to coordinate your care with chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and other support services-all under one roof. We want you to feel at ease and at home in our facility.
Our center provides advanced radiation therapy treatments. We offer intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), which uses special technology to manipulate beams of radiation to conform to the shape of a tumor while reducing exposure to healthy tissue, in turn reducing side effects. The linear accelerator is also equipped with CT technology to provide 3D image guided radiation therapy (IGRT). This enables radiation therapists to visualize the tumor at the time of treatment and deliver precise radiation.
Improved & Expanded Treatments Options
Cancer treatments have changed dramatically in recent years. Previously, surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation were the primary treatment options.
Today, the options include new treatments that can dramatically change outcomes. Chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery can be applied with greater precision and used alongside other treatments. The result is better outcomes and fewer side effects. Additionally, each year sees the introduction of new chemotherapy drugs, which are better at targeting cancer and achieving better results.
We adopt the newest treatment innovations, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, the use of hormonal therapy, and genetic testing.
Our professional team of radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, radiation therapists, oncology nurses, nurse navigator, dosimetrists, physicists, medical assistants, and support staff work together to provide the safest and best available care for our patients.
