The Center for Medicare/Medicaid (Federal Government), The Joint Commission and the Hospital Quality Alliance evaluate and compare a hospital’s compliance with Core Measures.

NQF and Patient Safety

NQF’s mission is to improve the quality of healthcare. Patient safety is central to achieving our mission. We know that reducing harm and preventable medical errors saves lives and lowers healthcare costs, a goal shared by everyone that touches the healthcare system.

Patient Care Improvement Projects

Core Measures are evidence-based expected patient care and the best care for you and your family. Core Measures evaluate how often and quickly each hospital gives recommended treatments for certain conditions like heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, children’s asthma, stroke, influenza, and blood clots, and follow best practices to prevent surgical complications.
