We Value our Volunteers!

Our Volunteers are an important part of the community and a part of our hospital family. They play a vital component to the success of Willamette Valley Medical Center by providing support in our clinical and non-clinical areas. Volunteers are the smiling faces who greet and escort patients, families, and friends. Volunteers work closely with our staff to lend assistance when needed.

As a Volunteer you have the opportunity to share your talents and skills by helping in Admitting, Human Resources, Patient Portal, Materials, Emergency Department, and the Medical floors. Some tasks include creating fliers, making copies, sorting, making files, escorting, greeting, and putting together packets. In the Emergency Department some tasks might include providing support to staff by stocking shelves with medical supplies, or literature. In the Gift Shop the volunteer is needed to meet and greet the public, provide information on products, cash register and sales experience (training is provided), and delivering flowers to patients. Helping Hands volunteers and NODA volunteers support family and
patients through special caring by holding a hand, listening, or just being there for someone who needs your time.

Adult volunteers are age 18 and above and are expected to commit to at least 3 to 4 hour shifts per week. Teen volunteers 16 – 17 years are expected to commit to at least 2 hours per week. Benefits: Volunteering is a community service, where individuals donate their time. In appreciation we offer some benefits such as a Letter of recommendation upon completing 100 hours of service. Free annual flu shot, Hep. C, Chicken Pox, M.M R., free lunch, coffee, tea, and an annual appreciation celebration luncheon.
