Updated Masking Guidelines Effective April 3
March 31, 2023
Effective April 3, 2023, Willamette Valley Medical Center will implement a “mask optional” policy throughout our facilities in accordance with the latest guidance from The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). As a result of this change, patients, employees, and visitors will no longer be required to wear masks; however, individuals may choose to wear a mask at any time as an additional precaution to protect themselves and others.
Our top priority continues to be protecting the health and safety of our patients, employees, and community. We continue to follow our standard operating protocols for managing infectious diseases that are in place year-round to help ensure the health and well-being of everyone who enters our facilities.
It is important to note that while masking is no longer universally required, there are specific instances and locations in which patients, employees, and visitors may be asked to wear a mask.
- If you are experiencing symptoms of any respiratory illness, including a fever, chills, cough, runny nose, or sore throat, you will be required to wear a well-fitting mask while inside our facilities. We will provide a mask if needed.
- People at higher risk for severe disease, or who live with someone at higher risk, should still consider wearing masks in health care or any settings, to better protect themselves and those most vulnerable around them.
We will continue to monitor the evolving COVID-19 situation and evaluate our guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure we are fully prepared to care for patients in accordance with guidance from the CDC and our local and state health departments.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation as we ensure a safe and healthy care environment for all.
