Paid Internship Program
The eight-week, paid internship program at Willamette Valley Medical Center offers an opportunity for young, aspiring healthcare professionals to gain exposure to a variety of clinical settings. Interns will work alongside nurses in specific areas of the hospital, such as the birthing center, emergency department or ICU, while gaining experience and developing employable skills.
Internship Areas
Each intern will choose one of the following areas of focus:

- Emergency department
- Emergency management
- Facility operations
- Health information management
- ICU
- Information technology
- Marketing and public relations
- Patient transport
- Senior behavioral health unit
- Therapy aid

Program Overview

- 8 week program
- 15 hours per week, determined by supervisor
- Twice-monthly check-in meetings to strengthen the internship experience

Eligibility
We are seeking applicants who are 18-25 years of age, have ties to the McMinnville community and are interested in pursuing a career in medicine. No previous medical experience is required.

The McMinnville Business Recovery and Resiliency Plan (“Plan”) is a State American Rescue Plan Act (“ARPA”) funded project secured by Rep. Ron Noble (HD-24) in the 2021 Oregon Legislative Session. The Plan addresses the ongoing issues related to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, the Plan supports the community’s MacTown 2032 strategic plan goal of Economic Prosperity. This Plan is intended to have enduring value.
