Therapy Services Outpatient Assistant
What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?
My spouse introduced me to the medical field when he became an X-Ray Tech here at WVMC. We both have the same passion to serve others, so I looked for ways I could use my clerical skills to help patients. I've been blessed to do so in many ways.
How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position?
I have worked at WVMC for over 5 years.
What does Making Communities Healthier mean to you?
Communities grow healthier when we teach and learn from others. If you are able to teach a skill, the student can also pass that knowledge on and so many people are benefited from that gift.
What are three things people may not know about you?
1. I teach piano lessons.
2. I help others budget their finances.
3. I enjoy running in 5K races and hope to move on to a 10K next.
What are some of your interests outside of work? What is your favorite local gem?
I absolutely love the beach and vacation in Maui every chance I get. The Oregon Coast has amazing things to offer as well. McMinnville is a great place to live and nothing quite beats a Maple Bacon Burger at The Grain Station.
What do you enjoy most about working at WVMC?
I really enjoy being the one to greet all our patients, especially the Cardiac Rehab patients who simply want someone to listen. I enjoy all the clerical duties, the feeling of being part of the team with all the therapists, and all the friendships created here at WVMC.
