Ricki Keyser
Human Resources Assistant
What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?
I had been in healthcare prior to WVMC, working in pharmacy and then managing the pharmacy. I wanted to try something different and create new opportunities for me to learn and grow. Human Resources is my beginning step to hopefully a new career field.
How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position?
I was hired in March of 2021 in this position.
What does Making Communities Healthier mean to you?
To me, making a community healthier isn’t just about their physical health, but also mental health awareness, outreach programs, and effective and respectful communication. It is the ability to make ourselves available to the public in a way that promotes healthier living.
What are three things people may not know about you?
1. I have two “littles” that remind me to do my best every day.
2. I am an identical twin.
3. I have aspired to be in healthcare in a hospital setting for over 5 years. I have wanted to be a nurse, and even a surg tech for some time. I am not set on always being behind a computer.
What are some of your interests outside of work?
I like to read and write, but you most likely won’t find me doing either unless I need to grieve or escape.
What do you enjoy most about working at WVMC?
I enjoy being able to work with so many of the employees here at WVMC. We have some really great management and executive team members who are focused on making the future a better place for their staff. It is awesome to be part of this little work community.
